Emmy Louise Dombrowski's Obituary
Emmy Louise Dombrowski, 77, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2026, in Gardnerville, Nevada. Born on November 28, 1948, in Stockton, California, Emmy lived a life filled with dedication to her family, friends, and community.
Emmy pursued her education in California, attending Los Angeles Valley College, where she earned an Associate of Arts degree. While in college, she began working for the United States Postal Service as a delivery driver, launching what would become a long and accomplished career. After relocating to Nevada in 1978, she steadily advanced within the organization and ultimately served as Postmaster in Genoa. Emmy retired from the Postal Service in 2006 after more than three decades of service. Her commitment to public service continued as she worked for Douglas County for an additional ten years.
In her younger years, Emmy was an active member and range master of the Beverly Hills Gun Club, where she competed in pistol and skeet shooting competitions. Her passion for the sport reflected her adventurous spirit and determination.
Emmy was a strong and resilient woman whose warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her. She was known for her ever-present smile and deep love for her family and circle of friends. Those who knew her cherished her generous heart and unwavering positivity; her home was always open to those she cared about and strangers alike.
She is survived by her daughter Jennifer Hawker-Lawton (Mike); son Phillip Dombrowski; grandson Austin Hawker; nephews John and Jason Dakoulis; and great-niece Alycia Dakoulis (children Aubrie, Adelyn, Asher, and Axel). Emmy was preceded in death by her mother Valerie Hunter; sister Del’Rae Dakoulis-Pfeiffer (Ed); brother Henry Hunter; aunt Emma Goodman (Uncle Z); and aunt Oudia Dickson (Bill).
