James Eddle White's Obituary
James Eddley White (Jim), 90, of Gardnerville, Nevada, passed away on June 5, 2026 in Mission Viejo, CA.
A native Californian, Jim graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1960 with a degree in Chemical Engineering and soon began a career in the computer industry. He worked for companies such as Burroughs, Parsons and Hewlitt-Packard, contributing technical skill, program management and steady leadership. He and his family lived in Sierra Madre, CA for 19 years, moved to the San Francisco Bay Area for another 19 years and then retired in 2001 to Gardnerville, NV where he was a resident for 25 years.
Jim was a devoted member of his church and community, serving as an elder and deacon at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Pasadena, Saratoga Presbyterian Church and Christ Presbyterian Church in Gardnerville, NV. He was an active member of the Carson Valley Toastmasters and helped with the tutoring program at the local high school.
He is survived by his wife Janice, daughter Deborah and son Michael.
Graveside services will be held at Eastside Memorial Park, 1600 Buckeye Rd, Minden, NV 89423 on June 22, 2026 at 10am followed by a Celebration of Life at Christ Presbyterian Church, 1528 US Highway 395, Gardnerville, NV 89410.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association in his memory.
