Connecticut DAR sends our sincere condolences to dear Marion and her family on the passing of her father, Jack Delaney. Thinking of you all at this time. May strength and peace be yours.
Oh Jack. You are such a great guy. We loved your devotion to the Navy as much your love to your family. You came to nearly almost all of the honor flight events. EVERYBODY LOVED GOOD OL JACK. I had the honor of traveling with Jack on the first Pearl Harbor trip and Jack was so excited to see his old ship the Mighty Mo (USS Missouri) After we returned back home, Jack contacted me a week later and said he wants to see the mighty Mo one more time. Last week, the Honor Flight Nevada team helped make his final wish come true. That was an honor. To Jacks family, I wish I could give all of you hugs right now. I’m so sorry for your loss of such a great guy. ❤️
Jack and I were on the first trip to Hawaii, with Honor Flight, back in 2020. This was before the virus, we were the special guest to tour the Big Mo. Jack served on this ship, and I was a young Marine serving in the Battle of the City of Soul, Korea. The Big Mo was giving us overhead fire protection. I said that some day I would like to tour this great ship, who gave us support in our battles. Since then, Jack and I became great friends, and were on his last trip to Hawaii in December of this year. We had many good times together and I will miss him.
May you always have wind in your sails ,and when you get to the Pearly Gates, our Marine will welcome you in. For you are a Marine forever.
Semper fi,
