Richard Wickerham's Obituary
Richard Wickerham passed away on June 18th, 2024, in Carson City, NV.
Rich was born September 18,1946, in Loma Linda, CA, to Harold and Lucille Wickerham. He grew up in Colton, CA, and graduated from Colton High School in 1964. He attended San Bernardino Valley College prior to attending the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy where he received his Doctor of Pharmacy Degree in 1970.
Rich started his pharmacy career with Sav-On Drug Store in Santa Ana, CA. After being transferred to San Jose, CA, and Playless Drugs purchase Sav-On, Rich was promoted to Pharmacy Manager of various pharmacies. In 1990 he was chosen to move to Gardnerville to open and manage the newly Payless Pharmacy, where he remained until his retirement in 2005.
Rich loved living in the beautiful Carson Valley. He was active in the Carson Valley United Methodist Church and could always be found working outside in his garden or yard.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jeannie, daughter Kimberlie (Jeremiah), grandchildren Andrew (Sierra), Christian (Kristy), Brooke, and their father Darren Jones, and sister-in law Kay Proffitt and Marylin Burg. He was predeceased by his daughter Krista.
Inurnment will be held Thursday June 27th at 1:00PM at Eastside Memorial Park, Minden, NV.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carson Valley United Methodist Church or Douglas County Animal Shelter.
