Taralee Beckett's Obituary
Taralee Beckett, age 62 of Gardnerville passed away, 10 Feb 2023.
She was born in Portland Oregon and was adopted by Glenn & Donna Tellgren. A few years after, the couple had a son Tim and a daughter Tracey. Her family later moved to Pleasant Valley NV. Taralee grew up there and attended Pleasant Valley Middle School and went on the Wooster High School in Reno.
Taralee's parents gave her a horse for her 13th birthday, which changed her life. Her love of horses sent her up to Portland Oregon to join the horse race circuit after high school. Taralee loved traveling the race horse circuit around the northwest. She started as a stable hand and worked her way up to becoming a certified trainer.
After about eight years working at Long Acres & Boise Park horse racing circuit, she moved into the medical field. Later she moved to Sacramento Ca, to be closer to her family. In 1996, Taralee met the love of her life Robert Beckett. One year after they met, they went to see her brother in Germany. And on a side trip the Paris, France, Robert proposed to her on top of the Eiffel Tower. The following year they got married and lived in Cameron Park, Ca. In 2012, they both retired and moved to Gardnerville Nevada. Taralee soon got bored with retirement and started volunteering at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historical Park. Taralee loved volunteering at the park and later riding her horse, Cowboy, until she became too ill and passed away. Her memorial service will be on Saturday, May 13th at 1pm, at Eastside Memorial Park Minden, NV.
